02 The state law transition checklist
Before each PCS, look up the new state's filing requirements, gather your records, and file your notice of intent on the new timeline. Keep a portable documentation folder so a move never catches you unprepared.
03 Portable curricula, what travels well
Open-and-go, low-materials, and download-based programs survive moves best. Avoid anything that depends on a specific co-op or local class you'll lose at the next station.
04 DODEA options for overseas families
Overseas families can sometimes access DODEA virtual courses or enroll part-time. Check eligibility with your installation, and keep US-based online curricula as a portable backup.
05 Building community quickly at a new duty station
Find your people fast: the base Family Support Center, installation homeschool groups, and the Community Map filtered to military families. Reach out before you arrive, not after.
06 Financial resources for military homeschool families
Many families don't know about MyCAA, base library and MWR programs, and military-specific curriculum discounts. Ask your Family Support Center what is available at your installation.
